Smith's Castle is an award-winning historic site where four centuries of Rhode Island history are preserved and interpreted through tours, historic reenactments, and educational programs for both adults and children.

Guided House Tours
Docents in period clothing provide interpretive tours of the house at noon, 1:00, 2:00, and 3:00 p.m.

  • May: Saturdays and Sundays

  • June: Friday, Saturdays, and Sundays

  • July: Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays

  • August: Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays

  • September: Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays

  • October: Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays (until season ends)

Our season for tours starts in May and ends in mid-October. Except for Christmas at the Castle, the first weekend in December, the Castle is closed for public tours until the first weekend in May. The office is open through the winter, please call 401 294-3521 with any questions.

Cost: $10 per adult, $8 for seniors, $8 for military, $5 for children 6-12, children 5 and under free.


The days we are not open during the week, visitors may walk the grounds up to sunset, but there is no access to the inside of the castle. This is a privately owned Historic House Museum and there must be a designated member with people, inside the Castle, at all times (no self guided tours). 

 

Pets are allowed on leash, but you must pick up after them! No pets are allowed on the grounds during events.
