Interested in becoming a docent for the 2017 year?
Smith’s Castle’s Volunteer Docent and Greeter Training Sessions
Training for those interested in becoming docents and greeters will begin on Wednesday, April 12, 2017, from 4 to 6 p.m. Future sessions will be scheduled based upon the availability of attendees. Experienced docents are readily accessible to offer support and assistance, and reference materials will be provided. Trainees are expected to commit to two 4-hour shifts per month from May to mid-October. Docents are also encouraged to participate in our public events (Heritage Days, Strawberry Festival, Harvest Festival, and Christmas at the Castle) and have the option to assist with youth education programming. Smith’s Castle is an historic house museum built in 1678 and is located at 55 Richard Smith Drive off of Post Road just north of the State Police Barracks in North Kingstown, Rhode Island. For more information and/or to register, please call the Castle office at 401-294-3521 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
