Smith's Castle is an award-winning historic site where four centuries of Rhode Island history are preserved and interpreted through tours, historic reenactments, and educational programs for both adults and children.

Guided House Tours
Docents in period clothing provide interpretive tours of the house at noon, 1:00, 2:00, and 3:00 p.m.—
Thursdays through Sundays in June, July, and August;
Fridays through Sundays in May, September, and October.
Mid December through mid April the Castle is closed; however, tours may be arranged by appointment. Please call 401-294-3521 to schedule a visit.

Admission
An admission of $5.00 for adults and $1.00 for children 6–12 is charged to tour the house. There is no fee to visit the gardens and grounds. Children under 6 and members are admitted free. Inquire as to rates for special events, school tours, and facility rentals.

Large groups and bus tours are welcomed. Tour confirmation is required in advance. Please call 401-294-3521.

School Tours
We provide several programs for school groups on colonial life and history, many including hands-on craft activities. Docents will also visit your school with their trunk of colonial artifacts for informative and entertaining classroom presentations. Please call 401-294-3521 for more information.

Meals
Food service is available through local caterers and restaurants. Consider an on-site luncheon or a picnic on the lawn. Information on other historic sites and activities of interest in the area is also available.

Rentals
The Castle grounds are a lovely setting for occasions such as weddings, graduation parties, company picnics, and family reunions. We can accommodate functions ranging from brief photo shoots to day-long events.
