Lectures on the lawn 2018
We are pleased to announce that this season's "Lectures on the Lawn" will be devoted to historical fiction. Upcoming events include
May 15th, James Glickman, author of "Crossing Point" , his novel of slave Guy Watson's role in the Revolutionary War, will read from his work and give a presentation in the Updike Dining Room. 6:00 pm. Suggested Donation $5.00
June 12th, Jo Ann Butler, author of a trilogy of historical novels, will read from her latest book "The Golden Shore, A Scandalous Life". On the lawn, weather permitting.6:00 pm. In the event of rain, The Updike Dining Room will host this event. Suggested donation: $ 5.00
On July 10th at 6:00 pm, Rory Raven, author of the historical novels "Gallows Hill", will read from his novel "Summerland" which takes place in Newport at the height of the gilded age. In case of rain, the event will be held in the Updike dining room. $5.00 donation suggested.
